L2 GOLF OPS / OPERATIONS + TECHNOLOGY

Running a golf course means wearing 10 hats. Let’s take a few off.

Practical, hands-on golf course operations and technology consulting for independent golf course owners and managers who have more on their plate than hours in the day.

From tee sheet systems and reporting to websites, workflows, and projects that never seem to get finished, L2 helps you make real progress without adding another headache.

Based in Wisconsin. Onsite understanding. Remote follow-through. Working with golf courses in Wisconsin and beyond.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

There’s always something else that needs your attention.

The phone’s ringing. Golfers are checking in. Someone called in sick. You’ve got an outing this weekend, a vendor waiting for an answer, and a dozen other things that need to get done today.

Meanwhile, the projects that could actually make your operation run better keep getting pushed to next week. And then next month.

Maybe it’s getting more out of your tee sheet or POS system. Maybe your reports aren’t telling you what you need to know. Or maybe your website and internal processes just haven’t gotten the attention they deserve.

I get it. I haven’t just been on your side of the counter. I’m still there. As a current golf course general manager, I know the day-to-day because I’m living it too.

That’s why I started L2 Golf Ops: to give smaller golf facilities someone who understands the business and can help tackle the operational and technology projects that are tough to fit into an already busy day.

REAL WORK. PRACTICAL IMPROVEMENTS.

The kind of projects we can take on.

Every golf course is a little different, but these are the kinds of things that tend to end up on the back burner.

Tee Sheet & POS Systems

Review settings, workflows, reporting, and how your team uses the technology you already pay for.

Reporting & Business Insights

Turn sales, rounds, membership, and operational information into reports you can actually use.

Websites & Digital Presence

Improve your website, online information, membership pages, and the way golfers find and interact with your facility.

Operations & Processes

Simplify repetitive work, improve handoffs, document processes, and make everyday operations easier to manage.

HOW L2 CAN HELP

Support that fits your course, not the other way around.

Some courses need help figuring out where to start. Others know exactly what needs to get done but don’t have the time to do it.

L2 offers a few different ways to help, with responsibilities, deliverables, and expectations agreed upon before work begins.

01 / GET CLARITY

Operations Review

A practical look at how your facility operates, including workflows, technology, reporting, and business processes. We identify opportunities and prioritize what is worth improving first.

02 / GET IT DONE

Operations & Technology Projects

Have a specific project that needs to get across the finish line? L2 can help with planning, vendor coordination, implementation, documentation, and handoff.

03 / KEEP MOVING

Fractional Operations Partner

Ongoing, clearly defined support for facilities that need an extra hand with reporting, technology, systems, or operational projects without hiring another full-time employee.

04 / CONNECT THE PIECES

Business Operations & Technology Support

Broader project support when operations, technology, vendors, and business processes overlap. The goal is to make the pieces work better together.

BUILT BY A CURRENT GOLF COURSE GM

Clubhouse experience. Grounds experience. Technology experience. It all connects.

Hey, I’m Chris McMillan. I’m the founder of L2 Golf Ops and the current general manager of Columbus Country Club in Wisconsin.

My background goes beyond the golf shop. I’ve worked hands-on as a member of a golf course grounds crew, and in my current GM role, I’ve taken on many responsibilities typically handled by a golf course superintendent.

That includes working through irrigation challenges, coordinating maintenance priorities, supporting grounds staff, and helping make decisions that affect course conditions. I’m still involved in those day-to-day challenges.

I’ve also managed tee sheets, staff, leagues, tournaments, memberships, websites, reporting, vendors, and the other moving pieces that come with running a golf facility.

Before moving into golf management, I spent more than a decade in IT. My golf background also includes management roles at River Falls Golf Club and Glen Hills Golf Club, along with championship operations experience through the P.J. Boatwright Internship with the Texas Golf Association’s Legends Junior Tour.

That combination gives me a practical understanding of how the clubhouse, course maintenance, technology, and business decisions affect one another.

I started L2 because smaller courses shouldn’t have to choose between handling every project themselves and hiring a full-time specialist for every problem.

I’m not here to tell you how to run your golf course. I’m here to understand how you run it and help you get important work done.

A Little More About Me

NO COMPLICATED PROCESS

Understand it. Improve it. Hand it over.

The goal isn’t to create a long list of recommendations that ends up sitting on your desk. It’s to make an improvement your team can actually use.

STEP 01

Start with your course.

We’ll talk through how things work today, what’s frustrating you, and what you would like to accomplish.

STEP 02

Agree on the work.

We’ll define the project, responsibilities, timeline, and what a successful result should look like.

STEP 03

Get it done.

I’ll help implement the improvement, document what matters, and hand it over so your team can keep using it.
